Handel Applauds House-Passed Budget
WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Representative Karen Handel issued the following statement after the House passed the fiscal year 2018 budget resolution this morning. H. Con. Res. 71 sets the stage for comprehensive tax reform by establishing Senate reconciliation rules, and it balances the federal budget by cutting $6.5 trillion from the deficit over the next decade.
“This budget is responsible, balancing within 10 years while also investing in our military, reforming Medicaid and strengthening Medicare,” Rep. Handel said. “More immediately, it takes a critical step toward passing comprehensive tax reform. This is a once in a generation opportunity, one that will create jobs and leave more for working families in every paycheck. I look forward to continuing to work towards that goal this fall.”
